A new mobile auction site for selling catle will conduct its inaugural online sale early next month.

FarmGate Auctions is a livestock auction mobile app and desktop site that provides the ability for people to assess, market and sell their livestock without leaving the paddock, and to watch the progress of upcoming and live auctions across Australia, add and manage lots for sale and bid for and purchase livestock.

The first FarmGate Auctions online sale will take place on Tuesday October 8 at 1pm.

Current listings include 100 2017 drop Hereford Heifers joined to calve March/April to Hereford Bulls. The listing completes the dispersal of the Banoon herd and many years of breeding quality Hereford cattle.

The directors of FarmGate Auctions are Jacob and Anderson principal Guy Gallen, a licensed stock and station agent, real estate agent, business agent and auctioneer from Gunnedah, and Matt Murphie, managing director and co-founder of FP Markets, an online trading platform that executes billions of dollars in transactions daily, and one of the largest CFD & FX providers globally employing 110 staff in offices throughout Europe and in Sydney.

Mr Gallen said the app was designed to bring choice to the industry.

“Up until now there has only been one system in place to buy and sell livestock online by auction. FarmGate Auctions gives the industry the advantage of choice where previously there was none and competition has to be good for everyone,” he said.

He said technology that allowed livestock agents to save information associated with assessing livestock using an iPhone or iPad offline was a key feature of the platform.

“A great percentage of producers have no internet connection. Having the ability to enter data and save a Lot offline is a huge step forwards for buyers and sellers of livestock,” he said.

Listings for FarmGate Auctions inaugural cattle sale open Saturday September 28 at 1pm. For further information visit the website here.
